Ruined

So it all comes down to this…Husky fans after being conditioned to the possibility of a bowl season, the Dawgs have one last opportunity to keep that hope alive.  The 24-23 loss to the Bruins brings us to this place of desperation.  How is it possible to lose a game when you win the turnover battle 5-1?  Well, you make sure that the one turnover comes at the MOST inopportune time, you miss a field goal, you have no pass rush, your Holt led defense plays not “awesome”, and your offense delivers field goals instead of touchdowns in the red zone.  Let’s see did I forget anything?  Oh yeah, we should have gone to Chris Polk more in the second half, after he rushed for 99 yards before halftime.

This team is one foot (literally) from a five game losing streak.  The excitement of the USC victory has effectively been tempered.  It is amazing how truly close the difference between a 3-6 team and a 6-3 team are.  Coach Sark is right when he says that the team is going to learn from all of these tight games.  It was an illusion to think that they figured it all out against USC.

Today the Huskies travel to Reser Stadium to face the Beavers.  It has been two years since the Huskies have won a road game.  This will be the last opportunity for a road win this season.  The Huskies haven’t beat the Beavers since 2003.  If today is going to be the day for the Dawgs, they are going to have to find a way to slow Canfield and the Rodgers brothers.  The Huskies are going to have their hands full.  There still is a way to save this season.

GO DAWGS!!!  Beat the Beavers!
