It has been exceedingly difficult to summon the energy to post as of late. You surely can tell by the delay in my report. It took a long time to wash away the stench of latest Husky loss against the red-hot Beavers. This 48-21 beating was the worst the Beavers have pasted on our Huskies in over 110 years that the two have played. Not only would this loss the sixth in a row to the Beavs, more importantly and disappointing, is the fact that it marks the seventh straight year the Dawgs will be absent from the bowl picture. In my humble opinion I remember only one player who played with the intensity required for such an occasion…Chris Polk. The only thing that could possibly construed as a win last Saturday was the fact the Dawgs didn’t choose to wear those awful all white uniforms.
Unfortunately, I have seen this game before…just not this year. For all of the promise of the Dawgs big victory over USC, it has faded into the nightmare that was 2008 Washington football. What a setback in the rebuilding of this team. While this season has to be called “a success” in comparison to where we have been, there has been a huge shift in momentum. Lucky for us, we are guaranteed a weekend without a loss. The perfect get well recipe is coming…the Apple Cup! Now that’s something to be thankful for.
GO DAWGS!!! Beat the Cougs!
