Do you ever get that feeling in the pit of your stomach? What do you call it? The butterflies…nerves. If you are a fan of a college football team, maybe you have had these feelings as you get ready for a big game. The Huskies have a big Alamo Bowl showdown against the Baylor Bears led by the Heisman Trophy winner, Robert Griffin III. I was recently reminded of these feelings by my nephew’s Facebook posts before his basketball games. I’ve really enjoyed watching him as he and his team improves and it is fun to remember the days. I remember those gut checks.
So as I make preparations for the gang to come over and watch the game and those anxious feelings start. I try to figure out how the Dawgs will pull another upset out of the hat. It can happen again, just like last year in the Holiday Bowl against Nebraska. I listen to the folks on sports radio reason amongst themselves on how the Huskies can topple the Baylor house of cards. I don’t know if lightning will strike twice, but I like to think that with the extra time and preparation Sark and his coaching staff can devise a plan to overcome the offensive prowess of RG3.
What I do know for sure is that John will get his special seat on the couch. What I hope to see is McT sliding across the hardwood floor, Risky Business style after another Husky touchdown.
GO DAWGS!!! Beat the Baylor Bear! Win the Alamo Bowl!
Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted in one moment
Would you capture it or just let it slip?…
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime
