About Us

Thanks for visiting. This blawg was started at the urging of our friend and Alan’s wife, Dana, who suggested it would be a good forum for capturing what goes on in our heads before, during and after a UW football game. So read on. Bleed Purple.  Be gold. GO DAWGS!

What You WON’T Find Here

  • Detailed and insightful game analysis from Jim
  • Well-researched, factual information from Jim
  • Anything positive about the Ducks

What you WILL Find Here

  • Distorted, sarcastic and sometimes funny perspective on the Huskies and our world that seemingly revolves around them
  • Things you might hear us mumble to each other during a game
  • Stuff that is on our mind, many times for no good reason

Jim

I grew up loving football — from my early years living in Connecticut when we drove to the City to see Joe Namath, to my years in the Bay Area rooting for the 49ers and the greatest QB to ever play the game, to my early college experience where I adopted the Trojans as my team (games at SDSU and SJSU couldn’t compare to a sold out Coliseum against ND or other big time foes).

I have been a die-hard Husky fan since moving to Seattle in 1996. My wife, Sarah, and I joined Alan’s season ticket group in 2001. Sarah has a number of family members that go to, or have graduated from, UW. While pro football is interesting to me, nothing compares to the passion and spirit that makes college football so unique.

    • Favorite Husky — Jake Locker (great talent and a great role model for my kids)
    • Favorite Memory — Jake holding my two sons on Photo Day
    • Favorite Experience — Tailgating on a boat. There are only two places in the country where you can do this at a college football game and nothing compares to the Husky experience. Those of you who have done it know what I am talking about.

I have been a rabid Husky fan since I moved up to Seattle in 1987 to attend UW.  My love for Seattle started much earlier with an elementary school trip to the Seattle Center for the King Tut exhibit.  One of the highlights from that trip was quite possibly my first physics experiment, as I pondered the collateral damage from the penny I dropped from the Space Needle.

Through the years I have seen a National Championship season in 1991.  I married my lovely bride, Dana, in 1992.  We traveled to LA, wittnessing a Rose Bowl victory in 2001.  We have shared countless fun, memories, and great times with our season ticket friends Jen & Kurt, Sarah & Jim, Ruth & Jerry, and our extended Dawg Pack family of friends.

  1. I felt like I was part of the day. Great reporting and a great win. I agree that all the statistics that come from usual commentators, are not necessary and sidetrack us from the game. Continue your view and we will be new fans.

Good to see family togetherness. Keep up the good work.

  2. Great site Al, but why nothing positive about the Ducks? Keep it up!

  3. Great site Alan.

It would be great to see the photos you are taking from the sideline.

    Keep up the good work.
